THE DRESSED AND THE NAKED
I don’t know whether you can laugh
or you can feel sorry for those
who have lost their power.
Perhaps sorrow fits better
as they go about miserable
trying to find something to put on
and cover their nakedness.
Or perhaps you need to always
be afraid of them, ready as they are,
soon as they take care of themselves
soon as they wear a suitable suit
they might grab the reigns again.
