Wheat Ears – Selected Poems

Imagination

I read the cereal box label

absentmindedly

closing my eyes

your face stood before me

smiling lips

I craved to kiss here now

in the supermarket isle

your image came

to keep me company

then my glance left

the cereal box and I imagined

I saw you walking

on the other side of the store

hurriedly and with box in hand

I ran to your apparition

only to find out it was another

woman and closing my eyes

I demanded to see you here

next to me and with

an ironic smile on your lips
